What is the Retreat Programme?
Set at a slower pace than other weeks, this Christian Retreat gives you the opportunity to slow down, relax, realign and escape the busy pace of life.
Times of prayer, musical worship, reflective devotions and space for reading and conversations help to provide a framework for the programme. Combined with times of Bible teaching and set in the beautiful Samos scenery, this programme is designed so that you can take stock and allow God to take the helm of your life once again.
As the sun rises over the distant mountains, the peaceful lapping of the waves on the Samos shoreline is the gentle accompaniment to start the day in prayer on the beach. An amazing way to begin a Christian Retreat!
During the day, there will be a variety of entirely optional touch points to help guide you through the week and connect with God. This includes the morning ‘Thought for the Day’ sessions and additional times of prayer, alongside the usual ministry times that are available every week of the season.
We know that some of you will be wanting to retreat while sailing a catamaran, cycling in the hills or kayaking in the bay: for this reason, we will be opening our full waterfront as usual.
Nick and Pam Jackson will be on hand throughout the week to chat and pray with and our Christian staff team are there to help you have a relaxing, refreshing and restorative week away. Nick and Pam live in Bournemouth, where Nick grew up. They are on the staff team in Lovechurch, Bournemouth, caring for members of the staff team and overseeing pastoral care throughout the two sites. Nick is passionate to see people come to faith and realise how much they are loved by God who created them. Pam, who’s background is in lecturing in Nursing, has a heart for people to enjoy good health: physically, mentally and spiritually.
We are looking forward to returning to September sunshine and a relaxing time on the beautiful island of Samos, with so many things to enjoy and Richmond’s great team on hand to ensure a wonderful holiday. We will be in Samos for recreation – but also for re-creation - of ourselves, our prayer lives and our walk with God. We are excited to see what God will do. We can’t wait to see you there!
