Matthew is a Chaplain in the Army, currently serving as Padre with 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, based in Windsor.  He is married to Marion, and they have 4 children – Chloe (19), Gregory (17), Barnaby (15) and Timothy (10).  Together with Marley the dog, and Tiger & Thor the cats, their family home is in Taunton, Somerset where Matthew was a School Chaplain, before becoming a Padre. Prior to ordination, Matthew was a Management Consultant with Accenture based in London but travelling across Europe advising companies on their Supply Chain strategy.  Prior to this Matthew was a Logistics Officer in the Army where his service took him to Northern IrelandBosniaCroatia and latterly Iraq during the 2003 Gulf War.  It was in the Army that Matthew developed a passion for skiing (both Alpine and Nordic) and he was Regimental Skiing Officer.  Matthew is no stranger to Richmond, having served as a Ministry Leader every year since 2008, and he can’t wait to get back on the slopes!  The Alps bring the words of Psalm 121 alive: I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth’.  Matthew is looking forward to leading the New Year Ski Week with the theme: ‘New Beginnings‘.
