Jonathon is a Church of England priest, ordained in 2011 after training at St Mellitus College, London. Alongside parish ministry, he has served as a chaplain in schools, universities, prisons and hospitals, most recently as Force Lead Chaplain for Devon & Cornwall Police, before returning to legal practice in April 2026.

An author (Being a Curate, SPCK, 2014), he writes on issues affecting the Church. His preaching is story-led, open and conversational, creating a safe space for reflection, curiosity and honest questions. He is particularly interested in exploring how the Gospel, our own stories and the Spirit work together to inspire greater authenticity, deeper faith and real personal freedom.

Married to Emma, with four sons and a lively cocker spaniel called Louie, Jonathon loves the outdoors, fitness, good food and life by the seaside, including sea swimming (although he’s still getting used to the cold!).
