It ticked every box for a family holiday with teenagers - something to keep everyone very happy for the whole week. The Samos team are an incredibly motivated and servant hearted bunch who inspired us all. It was exciting to see God at work in so many ways, in the kids lives but also the 'God moments' that opened up to share with other non Richmond guests staying at the hotel. Thanks also to the lovely Greek staff who served delicious food and even turned Josh's freshly caught mullet into a divine experience!

“I have just returned from a wonderful week in Austria. I returned feeling the benefit in body, soul and mind. Your team out there are a real credit to you. Nothing was too much for them. It was a great start to retirement. The programme was well organised, the food was wonderful, scenery magnificent, very comfortable chalet, well organised programme including trips. I did not get involved with Fit Fish but I appreciated the fellowship with Gaynor and Peter. They showed great enthusiasm for their work.
Thank you for the upgrade of room. I could lie in bed and see the mountains.

“I wanted to let you how much I enjoyed the holiday. It has been a few years since I have been on such a holiday - the last time was now some years ago in Kos.
The hotel was excellent with a plentiful supply of superb food. Rob, Katy, Stan and the waterfront team were all very friendly, helpful, approachable and professional helping to make for a wonderful week's holiday.
Unfortunately we were delayed on our return for 24hrs due to the Greek industrial action but Katy could not have been more attentive, helpful and caring during what must have been a very stressful 24 hours. When we finally got back to the hotel for an extra night before the flight home the next day, the staff were there to take in our bags, the local hotel staff manning the reception and some warm food was also available - all this at 00:45 in the morning. It was very humbling to be taken such good care off. They all really did go the extra mile and beyond to ensure we were well looked after. This was so very much appreciated.
Please pass on my good wishes and thanks to everyone.

“It's a beautiful place with so much to do on offer. The visit to the snow covered Dachstein Glacier was probably one of the highlights for everyone, with spectacular mountain top scenery on all sides and people skiing on the glacier. The free cable cars, ski lifts and swimming pools (with the summer card) was a real bonus, meaning you could go to the top of a mountain, from the cable car station just 5 mins walk from the chalet for a coffee or lunch. The open air pool also within 5 minutes walk of the chalet was surrounded by lawns and mountain scenery, with pure mountain water to swim in wonderful on a hot day and actually better than having a hotel swimming pool! Painting is my thing - and some gentle walking - but others enjoyed using the mountain bikes that were to hand in the chalet and more challenging walks. Then there was Saltzberg and Schladming to explore, lakes to visit, and and a first for me - rafting on the river Enn, which was exhilarating and fun. (I declined kayaking or a treetop assault course!)”

“If you want to see how a Ski chalet should be run then spend a week at Chalet des Neiges at Reberty!
I was impressed with the atmosphere right from the moment we arrived, due in no small part to Hermione and the calm, confident way she managed the team. Always visible and approachable, she was never afraid to get stuck in and help whilst the team went about their business without any fuss. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they made everything appear effortless.
The guiding was first class, whilst the food was excellent.
The chalet with skiing straight to the hot tub was an added bonus, as was the unbroken sunshine.
You are onto a winner here Richmond. Keep up the excellent work! We will definitely be booking Reberty next year, I just need to diet a bit after all the cake!”

I am sure there is masses of prayer going on behind the scenes because all the team were absolutely incredible in their warmth and willingness to serve us, all done with great cheerfulness and openness.
Lying on a sunbed next to the clear turquoise water and talking with other guests about the stuff that really matters in our lives is the best possible combination on a holiday! Even the little children were writing encouraging bible verses on pebbles and handing them out to us all - they are on our hall table and a lovely reminder. “This was my first Richmond holiday (but I am sure it won't be my last), you and the staff in the office were very helpful and Kathryn at Travel Counsellors made the booking of flights and parking at the airport easy. The transfers in Turkey went very easily.
The Richmond Resort Staff were fantastic. They were friendly and enthusiastic, they helped to make the holiday special; do please pass on my thanks to them all. I did particularly enjoy Zoe's Pilates classes and do intend to find a class locally and keep it up. The Regattas, canoe trips and other activities were well organised and great fun. The hotel staff were friendly and very patient with my, not very good, attempts at trying Turkish.
I am so glad that I booked on Eileen's photography course, it was a fantastic thing to do and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Eileen was great and so enthusiastic; she has made taking photographs into a whole new experience. My camera is usually out and ready to use now, rather than being kept in a draw and forgotten. Taking photos will never be quite the same again. I would highly recommend it.
I had a wonderful holiday which was just what I needed; I made some good friends who I will stay in touch with and I had a lovely time. God is good and I am so grateful to him for creating such a beautiful place and his timing for a wonderful holiday.

The team were exceptional, and really they could do no more for us than they did. “It was great to have a group of 12 of us developing a special bond and appreciating one another's uniqueness. Having meetings, hearing testimonies, exploring Jerusalem and Tiberias in evenings and having fun together.
Everything was so well organised.
The ministry of David was excellent; a most kind, able, compassionate man who led our meeting times so well, passing on his Biblical knowledge with sincerity and understanding. He was a most encouraging person.
The itinerary/excursions were excellent as we covered a lot of the country seeing amazing and wonderful places.
I think I found visiting Church of St. Anne very moving as when full of people singing their praises to God (including our tour) the whole building was filled with such a beautiful sound. Quite awesome!
I found the time at the baptismal site at the Garden Tomb very special.

Some of our group were nervous about coming on a Christian holiday but were pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoyed the trip.

Everything about the holiday was superb. Haus is a lovely village and the choice of activities on offer was great. More importantly however, I cannot speak highly enough of your staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were real models of Christian love. I'm thinking in particular of Hannah and AJ, but really it applies to all of them. JanMarie's food was wonderful, and I wasn't expecting the food to be such a highlight! I feel sure that the Lord guided me to Richmond. By the time I went on the holiday I was very stressed about work and the time away was a real blessing and provided the space I needed to think and pray. “Sorry, if it is beginning to get boring, but I have to write again to say what an excellent holiday I had, this time in Austria.
I am reminded of that famous Baptist missionary William Carey who went to India and it was 7 years before he witnessed his first convert. I have also been toiling away (for longer if you include Mastersun) to get my first convert which finally came this year when my friends from church decided to convert to a Richmond holiday!!
I persuaded them to write an item for our church mag. The comments in the article do sum up the feeling and appreciation felt for the staff. They were lovely, and worked so hard.
There will be no more Richmond holidays this year for me, but look forward, God willing to more of the same next year.

“We have just returned from one of the best holidays we have ever had in Samos and wanted to let you know. The Richmond staff out there were absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for them. As we are very inexperienced sailors we found the waterfront staff so encouraging and helpful. There was never a shortage of activities in both the day time and evening from walks to aquafit in the sea, boules and table tennis competitions, not to mention the excursions and minibus outings.
There was always someone on hand for any queries or problems and the staff there were a credit to Richmond. They took care of small and larger issues and being greeted at the airport with a bottle of water was a nice touch. We will certainly be taking a Richmond holiday.
(As we passed on our Richmond brochure to an English couple at the hotel who were not with Richmond but seemed to appreciate the ethos of our holiday we wondered if you might be able to send us another 2011 brochure to replace ours.)”

“The watersports were superb with good equipment, helpful staff and a great rescue team when the wind died or blew us away.
The sea was so lovely and warm and buoyant with delightful pretty fish and an octopus - so convenient for swims or boating and just a stroll from the hotel or bars.
Such a peaceful, amazing sea view with a beautiful sheltered bay and great gardens and trees, with plenty of sun shades and lots of space to escape to relax, sunbathe, read or chat with others.
The staff were enthusistic and efficient 24/7 with no cross words or hint of a grumble - always smiling, very professional.
We liked the air-conditioner unit - it was so easy to operate and adjust and quiet too for cooling us for sleeping on hot, sticky nights.
We really enjoyed the food - some interesting salads, fruits, cheeses and breakfast pastries and the lamb shish kebab was wonderful - we liked the scrumptious puds too! Beers were good and wines tasty.
The whole holiday went so smoothly - transport all on time and hassle-free. We arrived home refreshed and revived and 7 days felt like ages.”

From when I first spoke to Clare I was really impressed by how friendly and helpful she was. So was Kathryn in connection with flights.
Everything about the holiday was superb. Haus is a lovely village and the choice of activities on offer was great. More importantly however, I cannot speak highly enough of your staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were real models of Christian love. I'm thinking in particular of Hannah and AJ, but really it applies to all of them. Jan Marie's food was wonderful, and I wasn't expecting the food to be such a highlight!
I feel sure that the Lord guided me to Richmond. The time away was a real blessing and provided the space I needed to think and pray. I am so grateful and do pray that God will continue to bless your ministry.

“Here I am on the veranda of our delightful chalet, with reeds and trees rustling in the breeze and frogs croaking thinking this is the most idyllic hotel I have ever encountered. I've been to a fair number of Mediterranean resorts and this is my number one - well done for finding it and striking the deal! I love the pleasure of so much personal space. The grounds are extensive, and the chalet accommodation is such a change from concrete boxes. The food is of a very high standard indeed, and we have been unanimous in this. The evening meals are exceptional in their quality and variety. Of course the Richmond Team are a delightful group and so good at their work.”

Wow, what a wonderful time we have had. We have never been with Richmond before, but will certainly book again. It was fantastic.
Sainte Foy was an amazing resort, helped by that huge dumping of snow! The off piste was thoroughly enjoyed by our teenage children. The Chalet was really cosy and comfortable and had a real relaxed feel to it.
But best of all were all the lovely people we met!
From the moment we arrived, the staff were so warm and welcoming. Actually it seems really odd now to call them "staff" as we left as friends!

“Just dropping a line to say how much we enjoyed the holiday. We have previously been to Samos on two occasions and did not initially think that we would get a holiday abroad this year. Thus, at the last minute, when it did become possible, Samos and Bodrum were, of course full! As the children have had such a good time before with the sailing etc, we weren't sure whether it would go down as well in Croatia, but they had a great time, and much thanks and praise to Emma and Josh for making our children's stay so enjoyable!
This also meant that Sam and I were able to enjoy some well deserved rest! (with no sailing to distract the serious business of sitting by the pool sunning ourselves and reading!)

EXCURSIONS
Richmond will offer a wide variety of activities and excursions
Dalmatia is the most visited region of Croatia, because it offers so much to do and see.
Visitors have the rich diversity of the rocky coastline and sandy beaches, the deserted islands and the splendid cities of this Adriatic Region. The Adriatic culture which has developed has given Dalmatia an Italianate feel.
The location of today's Split- Dalmatia County, was inhabited early on, thanks to its mild climate, fertile soil and numerous springs of potable water. Born surrounded by poor soil, rocks and sea, the Dalmatian people were determined to be sailors, fishermen and farmers. Cultivating crops as the grape vine, figs and tenacious olive trees, nourishing their numerous families on the poor soil, the land worker's life was arduous and the fisherman's even more so.
Split
This really is an enjoyable City to visit. Catch the Burra Line ferry from Trogir and cruise along the Pantan river with stunning views of Ciovo Island and the Marjan Peninsular. You arrive right on the waterfront in Split and can explore, with every sight close by.
The Diocletian Palace is an extraordinary fusion of the old city where you can climb the tower. Modern cosmopolitan bars and cafes abound and the latest fashion icons and celebrity brands are nearby.
Krka National Park
The Park is the empire of the Krka River, the magnificent karstic beauty traveling two thirds of its way to the sea through canyons. On its green path, it has seven magnificent falls. The Krka National Park is rich in flora and fauna. There are 222 bird species in the park, making it one of the most valuable ornithological areas in Europe. You can visit on our excursion and cool off and actually swim at the waterfalls in the park.
Hvar Town
Hvar is an ancient town with a rich history on the Croatian island with the same name. Hvar is proud that it has the most sunny hours of all the islands in the Adriatic Sea. ?Many people say of the town Hvar that it is like a town from a fairy-tale because of its architecture, wonderful nature and mild climate. Here everybody can find all that gives peace to the soul and relaxation to he body.??From the sea you can get a sight of the waterfront promenade strip, bordered with a row of palm trees and seven centuries old walls, overtopped by the fortresses protecting Hvar, extending downwards to the town and to the Venetian loggia. Coming from the central part of the island or using the road from the ferry harbour you arrive at the magnificent piazza, a square generally considered the most beautiful of the kind in Dalmatia, dominated by St. Stephen's Cathedral and bordered by the palaces of Groda and by the cascading stone-built houses of Burag.
Solta Island
Solta is a truly delightful island with picture perfect villages, which you can arrive at by boat and enjoy the beautiful fishing villages. Maslinica is a settlement on the Solta island, situated in a bay on the west part of the island and is a lovely place to relax and take in the peaceful environment. Richmond can arrange boat trips to Solta direct from Trogir calling in at the Blue Lagoon.
The islands of Drvenik Mali and Drvenik Veli
These islands are truly special. The chief occupations on the island are farming, olive growing and fishing. The coast is well indented and the coves include Vela Rina, Mala Rina, Borak and Garbine. The most beautiful sandy beach has the cove of Vela Rina. The island is only 45 minutes by ferry from Trogir and runs twice a day with the fare just £2. The islands of Drvenik Mali and Drvenik Veli are real nature pearls among the other tourist destinations in the Trogir area.
There is only one little village on each island - Borak port on Drvenik Mali, and Drvenik on Drvenik Veli. The rest is unspoilt and unpolluted nature with numerous inlets and sand beaches to enjoy, and hidden bays reachable by foot or by boat.
