“Having now come back from our second holiday to Montchavin, I felt I must write to thank everyone at Richmond for making them probably the most memorable and enjoyable skiing holidays we have ever had.
Rosanna and her team are to be congratulated for a first class service, providing excellent hospitality, fellowship, food and ski guiding. Even the weather was perfect in March!

High altitude skiing for all the family

Set high above the Upper Tarantaise Valley, is the exciting international ski area of La Rosiere 1850.  Enjoying a superb location, on the Italian border, this friendly French resort boasts wide-open sunny pistes, perfect for all abilities of skier and boarder wanting unforgettable mountain fun.

Skiing over to the linked resort of La Thuile in Italy offers fabulous views of the three major surrounding mountains, Mont Blanc, the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa.  Whether you are cruising on blues or enjoying the thrills of off-piste heli-skiing, you can be sure of snow dusted pine trees and sculpted mountain peaks - La Rosiere has an excellent snow record, due to its location on the Petit St Bernard pass.

The resort itself is well equipped and has all the ingredients for an excellent family ski holiday. Our chalet is placed in a developing area of La Rosiere, called Les Eucherts, which is a short walk from the centre or a five-minute shuttle bus journey away.

There's lots of après ski to enjoy too. If you still have energy after a hard day on the slopes there are lively bars and cosy restaurants as well as a cinema, live music and events such as torch-lit descents.

On the slopes

Beginners

Complete beginners will soon make quick progress on the green runs. The wide blue pistes just above La Rosiere are then perfect for getting to grips with turns and gaining your confidence.

Intermediate

The international ski area is ideal for intermediates who want to experience lots of long blue and red runs. Discover new areas of adventure in this snowy ski playground. There is plenty here to keep everyone happy!

Expert

There are 11 black runs in the Espace San Bernardo, as well as some fabulous off-piste skiing and boarding above the Petit San Bernard Pass.  Thanks to its location, La Rosiere, is the only resort in the Savoie that can offer helicopter drops (usually January to April) over the Val d'Aoste massifs. A 2,100m vertical drop from The Ruitor awaits the most daring skiers and boarders.
