Montchavin, La Plagne

A very pretty traditional village resort with doorstep skiing

If you enjoyed our years in Peisey, you will love this charming farming village resort of Montchavin.

Enjoy the warm welcome of our four chalets, mostly converted farm buildings. Chalets Saboia, Bovate, Meiringen and Verdache, where wood, stone, slate and delicately carved balconies combine in harmony with their natural setting in the heart of this picturesque village.

These superb chalets are perfect for families or groups, as each can be divided into separate suites, housing up to 80 people in total. Experience the genuine friendly welcome each chalet offers and the cosy feel from an interesting range of rooms available.  Homely mezzanine suites and a luxury room in the eaves with a corner bath to help relieve aching muscles, are just two of the options available.

Pistes, ski lifts and ski school are literally on the doorstep, as well as children’s clubs (12 months-12 years) and in a land where skiing rules supreme, the pleasures of après ski activities have not been forgotten here.

Montchavin - on the slopes

Skiing in Montchavin offers endless possibilities. The vast Paradiski ski area is one of the largest in the world, with an amazing 425km of marked pistes!

Beginners
An excellent place to begin. Nursery slopes and easily mastered runs between resorts ensure that novice skiers will soon be enjoying the multitude of blue and green runs across the Paradiski area.

Intermediate
A dream for intermediate skiers. From exhilarating motorway skiing to quiet powder runs in the alpine forest, La Plagne has it all!

Expert
Expert skiers and boarders will relish this superb area. Difficult black runs and mogul fields challenge nerves as well as skill off the Bellecote glacier. Extensive off-piste though the trees and snow parks, means you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Montchavin - off the slopes

On the doorstep of the Vanoise Express cable car linking La Plagne to Les Arcs, Montchavin is one of the ten alpine villages that make up La Plagne.

It’s narrow streets and traditional mountain farmhouses are thoroughly welcoming and as it is still a working farming village, it’s authenticity has been carefully preserved.

There are plenty of activities to try. Snowshoeing outings, walking tours, helicopter rides, alpine excursions, parapenting, ice skating in nearby Les Coches, and discovery groups to explore the region’s rich heritage (food and crafts are organised by the tourist office).

Other activities are advertised in resort each week.
